Reimagined within Nepal's contemporary social, political and cultural context, the production examines how power, prejudice and institutional influence shape the pursuit of truth and justice. The play follows Menuka, a sex worker who becomes the sole witness to a violent incident during a bus journey. To protect the real perpetrator, influential individuals pressure her to falsely accuse an innocent man from the marginalized Madhesi Dalit community, of attempted sexual assault. Supported by political influence and institutional power, the police further compel her to give a false statement. As the pressure intensifies, Menuka finds herself trapped between fear, conscience, and survival. When an innocent man later seeks refuge in her room while fleeing an angry mob, she is forced to confront the consequences of her choices and the moral responsibility of standing by the truth. What happens next unfolds on stage… The play explores communal discrimination, caste and regional prejudice, gender inequality, political corruption, and the abuse of power.
