Thimi Heritage Walk

Thimi is a historic Newar settlement, known especially for its pottery traditions. The Prajapatis still turn the wheel today, shaping clay and carrying a living craft through generations. Over the next 12 months, we will walk through historic settlement, it's sacred spaces, streets, courtyards, and living traditions. This walk invites us into the layers of Thimi—to experience its settlement patterns, architecture, beliefs, crafts, and the communities that continue to shape them. We’ll walk through old neighbourhoods, courtyards, temples, monasteries, water systems, and spaces where heritage is still lived rather than simply remembered. We believe preservation isn’t only about protecting monuments. It is also about noticing, remembering, and passing on the stories held within them.
