Teej 2026 in Kathmandu: Events & Things to Do

Teej is Nepal's great women's festival — a day of fasting, red saris, temple queues at Pashupatinath, and dar khane feasts the nights before. Kathmandu turns crimson and the dohori and Teej-song nights run for a week around it.

Teej peaks in September, and in 2026 the main day falls on Thursday, 3 September 2026. Because it moves with the calendar each year, the surrounding events — dinners, concerts, cultural nights and parties — tend to appear in the weeks just before.
