Holi 2027 in Kathmandu: Events & Things to Do

Holi is Nepal's festival of colours — a riot of powder, water balloons (lola) and music that turns Kathmandu's streets and rooftops into open-air parties. Basantapur and Durbar Square draw the biggest crowds; venues across the valley throw ticketed Holi rain-dance parties with DJs and foam.

Holi peaks in March, and in 2027 the main day falls on Tuesday, 2 March 2027. Because it moves with the calendar each year, the surrounding events — dinners, concerts, cultural nights and parties — tend to appear in the weeks just before.
