Why it matters

People in Kathmandu search Google for “your name hours”, “your name menu” and “restaurants in your area”. Kata Khane is built to rank for those searches, with one page per restaurant and one page per area and dish.

  • Your hours and phone show on Google when someone searches your name.
  • Your page appears in the list for your area, for example “Restaurants in Jhamsikhel”.
  • Wrong hours and old phone numbers from map data get fixed by you, not by a stranger.
  • No app for your customers to install. The page opens in any browser.

How to claim, in three steps

  1. Find your restaurant

Search by name or phone number on the claim page. If it is not there yet, say so and we add it.

  2. Tell us who you are

Your name, phone and role, plus one thing we can check: a shopfront photo, a call back, or a message from your Instagram account.

  3. Get your link

We call to confirm, usually within a day, and send a link that opens your editor. Change hours, menu, photos and contacts whenever you like.

What costs money

The listing is free. Two things are paid:

Featured placement

Your restaurant at the top of an area page or a dish page, marked “Featured”. NPR 1,500 per month per page. Pay by Fonepay or QR; we place you within a day.

Pro listing (later)

Menu with photos, a reservation button, a WhatsApp order link and a weekly count of people who saw your page. Not available yet; you can leave your number to hear when it is.

Nothing else

No commission, no per-click charges, no fee to edit your page.

Questions restaurants ask

Is the listing really free?

Yes. The page with your hours, menu, photos, phone, WhatsApp and map costs nothing, now or later. You only pay if you choose featured placement on an area or dish page.

My restaurant is already on the site. Why?

We list every place to eat in the valley from public map data (OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps) so that people searching for it on Google find a page. Claim it to correct the details, or ask for it to be removed from the report link on the page.

How do you check that I am the owner?

We call the number you give, and we ask for one thing we can check: a photo of the shopfront with today's date, a message from the restaurant's Instagram account, or a call back from the number listed on your menu or signboard.

How long does a claim take?

Usually within one working day. You get a link by SMS or WhatsApp that opens your editor. No password, no app to install.

Can I remove my restaurant from the site?

Yes. Every page has a link to ask for a fix or removal. Removal requests are handled within a day, no account needed.

What does featured placement cost?

NPR 1,500 per month per page, for example the Jhamsikhel page or the momo page for Lalitpur. Pay by Fonepay or QR. We place you within a day of payment.

Do you take a commission on orders or bookings?

No. We do not handle orders, delivery or payments. The page sends people to your phone, WhatsApp, Instagram or door.
